Good point. File this away with "natural talent." Yes, I had a talent. But I practiced and grew that talent into a skill.

This is sound advice. If you can't explain your story and categorize it, how are you ever going to find your audience? And without an audience... well, you know. Sure, I'd love to be as well known as a lot of classic authors - but a lot of classic authors died penniless and nearly unknown in their time. I kind of like the idea of making enough money to at least survive on and pay for the creation of the book itself.
